Avesto Monument and Avesta Park

Zoroastrianism was the predominant religion of Khorezm before to the arrival of Islam. To commemorate the 2700th anniversary of the religion, the Avesto Monument was built in 2001 as the focal point of Avesta Park. Ulli Hovli

The historic town of Ulli Hovli, which is located outside of Urgench, has a long and illustrious history that dates back to the 17th century. Constructed in cooperation between Turkmens and Uzbeks, it protected trade caravans. Now a living historical site, it shows Uzbek-Turkmen food, traditional clothing, horses, and camels in addition to Turkmen performances and craft workshops.

A new, imposing 25-meter monument that depicts Jalal ad-Din Mangburni with a sword in hand and the reins of a horse has replaced his former statue across the canal park.
